Robert Owens

Robert James Owens (or just Robert Owens) is an American born (Aug 16) singer, songwriter and record producer. He was a member of the Chicago house group Fingers Inc in the mid-1980s. He is best known for the house anthem "I'll be your friend", which was #1 on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1992. The song was remixed numerous times and eventually hit the UK Top 40 in 1997.

What happened next?
Robert Owens would score a second US Dance #1 in a collaboration with Photek on "Mine to give" in 2000. He has collaborated with many acts including Tomiie, Cevin Fisher and Coldcut. In 2021, he has been collaborating with Sebas Ramis and Nebula.
