Robert Miles

Robert Miles was a pseudonym used by Roberto Concina, a Swiss-born (Nov 3) Italian record producer, composer, musician and DJ. Born in Switzerland, his family returned to Italy when he was a boy to live in Fagagna. He spearheaded the "dream-house" sound in the mid-1990's with his worldwide hit single "Children" and the subsequent album "Dreamland". "Children" was #1 on the UK, US and Canada Dance charts. Follow-ups "Fable" and "One and One" featuring Maria Nayler also reached the top of the US Dance chart.

What happened next?
Robert Miles founded Salt Records and was managed by Gavino Prunas. Miles tragically died of pancreatic cancer in Ibiza, Spain, on 9 May 2017 at the age of 47. Miles’ Open Lab station was taken off-air shortly afterwards, pending discussions on the future of the station. After receiving many messages from people expressing dismay at the station's suspension, it was announced that the station would be returning soon in 2019 starting with a live radio stream in January 2019 followed by a reboot to radio on 106.4 FM in Ibiza in April 2019.
