Faithless

Faithless is an English electronic band comprising of rapper/singer Maxi Jazz (Max Fraser, Jun 14), programmer/producer Rollo (Rowland Armstrong, May 8), programmer/DJ Sister Bliss (Ayalah Bentovim, Dec 30), singer/instrumentialist Jamie Catto and guitarist Dave Randall. They have used both Pauline Taylor and Rollo's sister, Dido as guest vocals. They are best known for the dance classic "Insomnia", which reached #1 in the UK dance chart in 1995 and upon re-release #1 in the US and Canada dance chart in 1997. Their debut single was "Salva Mea" followed by "Insomnia" and "Don't leave" with moderate success in 1995. "Insomnia" was simply re-released and was a major hit in 1996. "Salva Mea" and "Don't leave" were both reissued. "Salva Mea" was remixed and included vocals by Collette. It became US Dance Chart twice (in March 1996 and October 1997 respectively). "Don't leave" was included in the soundtrack for "A Life Less Ordinary". All tracks were from the album "Reverence", for which the title track itself was released as a single. "God is a DJ" was also US and Canada Dance #1. "Bring my family back" was from the film 'Forces Of Nature'. Both Rollo and Sister Bliss had solo projects. Rollo used different "Rollo goes" monikers depending on the mood. Rollo goes camping with "Get off your high horse" was UK Dance #1 in September 1994. Sister Bliss had UK Dance #1 a month later with "Cantgetaman, Cantgetajob (Life's a Bitch)".

What happened next?
On 16 March 2011, Maxi Jazz announced on his website that Faithless would cease to be, commenting "But, like when writing a song, you always just know when it's finished... this is and was the Thank YOU And Goodbye tour." In December 2016, Billboard magazine listed Faithless among the 100 Top Dance Club Artists of All Time (ranked 47th). In 2020 Faithless started to compose new songs, "Let the music decide" featuring George the Poet, "This Feeling" featuring poet Suli Breaks and Nathan Ball on vocals. An album, "All Blessed" was released in October. Maxi Jazz did not perform on the album but was thanked in the sleeve notes for "passing the baton".
