Whitney Houston was an American born (Aug 23) singer and actress. She is best known for singing Dolly Parton's "I will always love you" from the movie "The Bodyguard" for which starred in. The song was a runaway hit internationally. The Bodyguard also had "I'm every woman" reach #1 on the US and Canada Dance chart (1993) with "Queen of the Night" another US Dance #1 (1994).
"Exhale (Shoop shoop)" another song from another movie, "Waiting to exhale" reached #1 in the States and this would be her last chart topper there.
The album "My love is your love" brought more success with the title track, "It's not right but it's okay" and "Heartbreak hotel" all reaching the US Top 5 and all making #1 on the US Dance chart.

What happened next?
Whitney sadly passed away in 2012 but legacy lives on. A little known album track, "Higher Love" from the Japanese version of Whitney 's third album, "I'm your baby tonight" was remixed and released by Kygo in 2019. It made #2 in the UK.
In December 2016, Billboard magazine listed her among the 100 Top Dance Club Artists of All Time (as 13th)
