Whigfield is actually the name of an Italian dance act fronted by the Danish singer and songwriter Sannie Charlotte Carlson. These days we just think of Sannie as Whigfield. She is best known for debuting at #1 and knocking off Wet Wet Wet's "Love is all around" in the process with "Saturday Night." It would spent 4 weeks on top in 1994. "Saturday Night" also spent 2 weeks at #1 on the Canada Dance Chart. Follow-ups "Another day" and "Think of you" also made the UK Top 10.

What happened next?
Whigfield's recent releases including her failed attempt to represent Denmark in the Eurovision Song Content in 2018, "Boys on girls" and "Suga" in 2020. At the end of 2021, she featured on a number of throwback shows in the UK and Canada.
