Glamma Kid

Iyael Lyases Tafari Constable (better known as Glamma Kid) is an English born (Mar 14) toastmaster/rapper of part-Jamaican descent. His first success was with UK dance duo Basement Jaxx on the song "Fly Life" and appeared on legendary BBC Radio 1 rap show with Tim Westwood in 1997. In 1998, he was awarded the Best Reggae Act at the MOBO Awards. Two UK Top 10 hits followed with toasted up versions of Sade's "Taboo" and Carly Simon's "Why".

What happened next?
Glamma Kid returned the favour of Shola Ama guest vocals on "Taboo" by featuring Shola Ama's "Much Love" (UK#17, 1999). He had his last top 20 hit with "Bills 2 Pay" (UK#17, 2000). He has collaborated with many artists such as UK reggae legend Maxi Priest on "Ladies Knight" (2000), reworking of Kool and the Gang's "Ladies Night". Also Beenie Man and Jamelia on "Bling Bling Bling" (2000). Estelle featured on Glamma Kid's "Computer Love". In 2011, he performed live with Grace Jones on her hit single "My Jamaican Guy" on UK television for BBC Windrush.
