Digable Planets

Digable Planets are an American hip-hop trio composed of rappers Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Mariana "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira, and Craig "Doodlebug" Irving. They are notable for their contributions to jazz rap and alternative hip-hop. They are best known for the track, "Rebirth of slick" which was #1 on the US Rap chart and #15 on the US Singles Chart.

What happened next?
Digable Planets actually disolved in 1996 but all three members have remained musically active. Butterfly formed the band Cherrywine, releasing the album "Bright Black" in 2003. He also composed music for commercial clients including Pepsi and Fila, and ventured into acting, with a few credits in film and Off Broadway.
Ladybug Mecca (shortened to Ladybug) released a solo album "Trip The Light Fantastic" in 2005 as well as composing the score for a short film entitled "The Monster courtesy of Scenarios USA - Kids Creating Social Change" in 2001.
Working as Cee Knowledge, Doodlebug has been leading Philadelphia live hip-hop ensemble Cosmic Funk Orchestra since 2000. In addition Doodlebug is the CEO of the successful multimedia company 7 and a Cresent.
They have reformed to make the odd live appearance (e.g. Lollapalooza 2005) and released a self-titled live album in 2017.
