Gypsymen

Gypsymen is actually an alias of Todd Terry. The project is best known for the US Dance #1 hit, "Hear the music" which spent 1 week on top in April 1992.

Glamma Kid

Iyael Lyases Tafari Constable (better known as Glamma Kid) is an English born (Mar 14) toastmaster/rapper of part-Jamaican descent. His first success was with UK dance duo Basement Jaxx on the song "Fly Life" and appeared on legendary BBC Radio 1 rap show with Tim Westwood in 1997. In 1998, he was awarded the Best Reggae Act at the MOBO Awards. Two UK Top 10 hits followed with toasted up versions of Sade's "Taboo" and Carly Simon's "Why".

What happened next?
Glamma Kid returned the favour of Shola Ama guest vocals on "Taboo" by featuring Shola Ama's "Much Love" (UK#17, 1999). He had his last top 20 hit with "Bills 2 Pay" (UK#17, 2000). He has collaborated with many artists such as UK reggae legend Maxi Priest on "Ladies Knight" (2000), reworking of Kool and the Gang's "Ladies Night". Also Beenie Man and Jamelia on "Bling Bling Bling" (2000). Estelle featured on Glamma Kid's "Computer Love". In 2011, he performed live with Grace Jones on her hit single "My Jamaican Guy" on UK television for BBC Windrush.

Gino Latino

Gino Latino (Lorenzo Cherubini) is a name conceived in 1988 by Italian producer Claudio Cecchetto to be used for Jovanotti's early Italo House productions. Best known for the early 1990 hit, "Welcome"

Ghost Town DJs

Ghost Town DJ's (often stylized as Ghostown DJs) is an American hip-hop group from Atlanta, Georgia whose members consist of DJ Demp, Rodney Terry, Greg Street and Kito, which recorded the 1996 hit single, "My Boo". The song was influenced by Miami bass and was bug in the Miami region. It reached #2 on the Canada Dance chart, #7 on the US dance sales chart and #31 on billboard hot 100.

What happened next?
In early 2016, "My Boo" became a viral meme called the "Running Man Challenge", which first emerged on Vine and given Ghost Town DJs a new lease of life.

Freakpower

Freakpower was an English band founded by Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim), trombonist Ashley Slater and vocalist Jesse Graham (Bass Cadet). Their music was a cross of acid jazz, funk, soul and trip hop. They are best known for the UK Top 3 hit "Turn on tune in cop out" that also was featured in the "Taxi" Levi's jeans advert campaign in 1995.

What happened next?
Freakpower released two albums, "Drive-thru body" and "More of everything for everybody". After their last hit, "No way", there has been little activity, although "Song#6" from the second album was featured in the 2004 movie "Code 46" and the United State EP in 2008 appears to be credited to them.

Fragma

Fragma are a German vocal trance music group. Originally the creation came from brothers Dirk and Marco Duderstadt and producer Ramon Zenker. In 1999, they had a UK Dance Chart #1 with "Toca me".

What happened next?
Fragma would add vocals to "Toca Me" with a sample from Coco Star's 1996 song, "I need a miracle" and called it "Toca's miracle". It gave Fragma their only UK chart topper in April 2000. Subsequent UK Top 5 hits followed with "Everytime you need me" (with Maria Rubia on vocals) (UK#3 2001) and "You are alive" (with Damae on vocals) (UK#4 2001). A 2008 remix of "Toca's miracle" sent it back into the UK charts.
Vocalist Damae left the group in 2012 and her replacement didn't come until 2017 when Tess took over to front the group. Their most recent release was the track "I want more" in 2021.

Extreme

Extreme are an American heavy metal group from Boston, originally consisting of lead singer Gary Cherone, guitarist/keyboardist Nuno Bettencourt, drummer Paul Geary and bassist Patrick Badger. They are best known for the US Chart topping acoustic ballad, "More than words" and the associated album, "Pornograffiti".

What happened next?
Geary left the band in 1994 to pursue a career in artist management. Extreme went on hiatus when Gary Cherone became lead singer for Van Halen. A reformation took place in 2004 after a tour in the Azores (Nuno's hometown)/ Kevin Figueiredo joined as drummer in 2007 as they released their most recent album, "Saudades de Rock" in 2008. A second hiatus occured in 2010 before a second comeback in 2015 with tours every year (up until COVID struck).

EVE

Ebony Vibe Everlasting (or just E.V.E.) were an R&B girl group consisting of Edie-May Grant, Gina Gomez, Jenisa Garland and Mia Ambrester. They had two UK Top 40 hits from the album called "Good Life."

Not a lot is known after their only album except Gina Gomez had written hits for SWV, EYC and Color Me Badd amongst others.

Ethics

The Ethics was one of the many aliases of Dutch producer Patrick Prins. Under that name, he scored UK Dance #1 hit with "To the beat of the drum". Prins had another project called Subliminal Cuts that featured the award wining UK Dance #1 hit, "Le voie le soleil".

What happened next?
Patrick Prins continue to produce and record music on his own label, "Movin' Melodies". He mostly recently released, "Entering the belly of the whale" in 2020 with the Russian Linesman.

Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton is an English born (Mar 30) rock and blues musician. He better known for his guitar artistry.
In the 90s, he is best known for the emotional song, "Tears in Heaven" about the death of his son, Conor in 1991. It reached #2 in the States and #5 in the UK. He is also credited on the UK charttopper, "Love can build a bridge"

What happened next?
Eric Clapton has received 18 Grammy Awards (to date) as well as the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. In 2004, he was awarded a CBE for services to music has received four Ivor Novello Awards from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award. He is the only three-time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: once as a solo artist and separately as a member of the Yardbirds and of Cream.

Echobelly

Echobelly are an English rock band currently consisting of the original 1992 lineup of vocalist Sonya Madan and guitarist Glenn Johansson. A year or two later, bassist Alex Keyser, drummer Andy Henderson and guitarist Debbie Smith (formerly of Curve) joined. They are best known for their 1995 sophomore album "On" that spawned 3 UK hits with "Great Things" the pick of them reaching #13.

What happened next?
Health and legal issues after the second album hampered progress for Echobelly and their third album "Lustra". They took a hiatus before their fourth album, "People are expensive" was released in 2001. Whilst not quite as successful as the 90s, Sonya Madan and an Johansson have continued to release new material and perform acoustic shows.

East Side Beat

East Side Beat was an Italian dance project was fronted by Italian-American vocalist Carl Fanini and Italian keyboardist Francesco Petrocchi. They are best known for a cover of "Ride like the wind" that reached #3 on the UK chart. Another cover, this time of Simple Minds' "Alive and kicking" made the UK Top 30.

What happened next?
Carl Fannini went on to work with another Italian project, Clubhouse as well as Alex Gaudino. His most recent release was with Neja on yet another cover, Bronski Beat's "Smalltown boy" in 2021. Francesco Petrocchi went on to become a producer. It is unclear if this is the same Francesco Petrocchi that is an Italian politican.

Dream Warriors

Dream Warriors were a Canadian hip hop duo from Toronto, comprising of King Lou (aka Louis Robinson) and Capital Q (Frank Allert). Like Digable Planets are an early proponent of Jazz Rap. They are best known for the jazzy "Wash your face in my sink" and "My Definition of a boombastic jazz style" which heavily sampled Quincy Jones "Soul Bossa Nova." The song was actually also a nod to an old obscure 70s Canadian quiz show, "Definition", which also used "Soul Bossa Nova" as its theme tune.

What happened next?
Dream Warriors couldn't quite match the international success of "And now the legacy begins" with their three subsequent studio albums, "Subliminal Simulation" (1994), "The master plan" (1996) and "The Legacy Continues" (2002). They disbanded at some point and have not released anything new in 20 years.

Donna Lewis

Donna Lewis is a Welsh singer-songwriter and pianist who is best known for the 1996 international hit, "I love you always forever" where it reached #2 in the States amongst the many countries it reached the top 10. The song was the highest charting single since Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Her follow up single, "Without Love" scraped into the UK Top 40, thus sparing her the title of one-hit wonder. The two lead songs were from the debut album, "Now in a minute". She dueted with Richard Marx on "At the Beginning" for the movie soundtrack of Anastasia in 1997. Whilst not as successful with her second album, "Blue Planet", the song "Love him" did reach #1 on the US dance chart in November 1998.

What happened next?
Donna Lewis continues release music to this day with recent activity on her website. "I love you always forever" was featured on 2021 advert campaign for booking.com in the UK.

Digable Planets

Digable Planets are an American hip-hop trio composed of rappers Ishmael "Butterfly" Butler, Mariana "Ladybug Mecca" Vieira, and Craig "Doodlebug" Irving. They are notable for their contributions to jazz rap and alternative hip-hop. They are best known for the track, "Rebirth of slick" which was #1 on the US Rap chart and #15 on the US Singles Chart.

What happened next?
Digable Planets actually disolved in 1996 but all three members have remained musically active. Butterfly formed the band Cherrywine, releasing the album "Bright Black" in 2003. He also composed music for commercial clients including Pepsi and Fila, and ventured into acting, with a few credits in film and Off Broadway.
Ladybug Mecca (shortened to Ladybug) released a solo album "Trip The Light Fantastic" in 2005 as well as composing the score for a short film entitled "The Monster courtesy of Scenarios USA - Kids Creating Social Change" in 2001.
Working as Cee Knowledge, Doodlebug has been leading Philadelphia live hip-hop ensemble Cosmic Funk Orchestra since 2000. In addition Doodlebug is the CEO of the successful multimedia company 7 and a Cresent.
They have reformed to make the odd live appearance (e.g. Lollapalooza 2005) and released a self-titled live album in 2017.

Diana King

Diana King is a Jamaican born (Nov 8) American based reggae fusion singer/songwriter who is best known for the song, "Shy Guy", which was on the soundtrack to movie, "Bad boys" and reached #13 in the States and #2 in the UK. King had also had hits with covers of Rufus/Chaka Khan's "Ain't Nobody" and Dionne Warwick's "I say a little prayer". The latter was on the soundtrack for "My Best Friend's Wedding".

Deuce

Deuce was an English quartet consisting Kelly O'Keefe, Lisa Armstrong, Craig Young and Paul Holmes. They are best known for having 3 UK Top 20 hits in 1995 with "Call it love", "I need you" and "On the bible".

Craig Young became a theatre and TV actor. Paul Holmes went on to become a songwriter. Lisa Armstrong went on to become a make-up expert would marry Ant McPartlin of Ant and Dec fame in 2006 (divorced in 2018). Not a lot is known about O'Keefe except that she likes a drink of wine?

Des'ree

Desiree Annette Weekes (better known as Des'ree) is an English singer who best known for the songs "You gotta be" and "Life".

In 1999, she won a Brit Award for the British Female Solo Artist category. After recording a cover "Ain't no sunshine" with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, she put her music career on hold. Briefly, she came out of hiatus in 2003 to record her fourth album, "Dream Soldier." Late 2019, Des'ree released her fifth album, her first in sixteen years, "A Love Story".

Deep Dish

Deep Dish is an American-based electronic duo consisting of Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi. They are better known providing remixes for and working with various artists. This included their 1998 US Dance #1 hit with Everything but the girl on "The future of the future".
