Paula Abdul

Paula Julie Abdul or just Paula Abdul is an American born (Jun 19) singer, songwriter, dancer, choreographer and actress. She began her career in Los Angeles as a choreographer for music videos. Inevitably, she moved on to making music videos of her own. After having a successful debut album, "Forever your girl," that success continued into 90s with the last single from the album, "Opposites attract" reaching #2 in the UK and #1 in the states on the Canada Dance chart. A remix of "Knocked out" coincidenced with a full remix album, "Shut up and dance" and reached #21. Her second studio album, "Spellbound" had its lead off single, "Rush Rush" reach #6 in the UK. This and "The promise of a new day" were both US #1s. Her last UK top 40 hit (also a US Dance #1), "My love is for real" was the lead single from her third album, "Head over heels."

What happened next?
After the third album, "Head over heels", Paula Abdul has maintained a much lower musical profile since. Occasional forays into acting for television have been attempted, with her role as a judge on the TV show "American Idol" being her most recent claim to fame. In late 2020, it was announced she'd be a panelist on the new show, the masked dancer.
