Mory Kante was a Guinea born (Mar 29) vocalist. He is best known for the international hit "Yeke Yeke", which was remixed a couple of times in 1995 and 1996. The latter remix spent 1 week at #1 on the UK Dance chart in November 1996.

What happened next?
Mory Kante was among Africa's top musicians including Tiken Jah Fakoly, Amadou & Mariam and the rapper Didier Awadi that banded together for the recording of "Africa Stop Ebola", a song offering sound advice aimed at raising awareness in the wake of the Ebola crisis. The song, released in November 2014, transcended public service announcements and sold 250,000 copies with all proceeds going to medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
Tragically he passed away on May 22th, 2020 in Conkary, Guinea, partly due not being able recieve treatment in France caused by restrictions from COVID panademic.
