Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson Michael Joseph Jackson or just Michael Jackson was an American born (Aug 29) singer, songwriter, and dancer. Dubbed the "King of Pop", he is regarded as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century. At the start of the 90s, Michael had taken a couple of years from recording after the success of "Bad". He returned at the end of the 1991 with the lead single from the "Dangerous" album, "Black or white", which reached #1 practically everywhere, UK, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe. The full-length video was a bit controversial back then when Jackson smashed a car up for no apparent reason. The follow-up was top 10 in most countries and #1 in New Zealand and the Canada Dance chart in 1992. "In the closet" (1992) and "Who is it" (1993) were also US Dance #1s.
The next album was HIStory, which featured as its lead single, his duet with sister Janet on "Scream", a US Dance #1 in 1995. Two UK #1s came from this album, "You are not alone" and the "Earth Song". A whole remix album called "Blood on the dance floor", which the lead single and title track also reached #1 in the UK.

What happened next?
Michael Jackson had been dogged by his fair share of disputes and controversy in his private life. In 2009, he announced at a press conference at the London O2 Arena that he would play a short tour, "This is it", his first tour since the 1997 HIStory World Tour. Tragically, just 3 weeks before his first performance in London, on June 25, 2009, he died of a heart attack for which Conrad Murray, his physician was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
