La Bouche/Le Click

La Bouche is a German Eurodance act created by Frank Farian. During the 1990s, it was fronted by American born (May 13) singer Melanie Thornton and American (Apr 13) rapper/singer Lane McCray. Their biggest hits were "Be my lover" which was their only UK Top 40 hit and #1 in Germany, Italy and Holland as well on both the Canada and US Dance charts and "Sweet Dreams", which was Canada dance #1 in 1994.

Before La Bouche, both Melanie Thornton and Lane McCray Jr were also on the Le Click project and Thornton was featured on "Tonight is the night" in 1994. Le Click eventually replaced them with Kayo Shekoni and Robert Haynes with them, they had #1 on the Canada Dance chart in 1997 with "Call me". It also scraped into the UK Top 40.

Sadly, Melanie Thornton died in an airline crash on November 24, 2001 promoting the single "Wonderful dream (holidays are coming)".
