Brainbug v Brooklyn Bounce

Brainbug was Alberto Berapelle, an Italian symphonic electronic trance music producer and guitarist. At the back end of 1996, a track took clubs by surprise with at the time a unique dark aspect, which was dubbed "Pizzicato Syndrome". "Nightmare" went on to be an international hit in 1997. Brainbug had more success with "Benedictus", but further singles "The Eighth Dwarf" and "Rain" (with vocals) failed to chart as other acts such as Brooklyn Bounce and Lucid used the "Pizzicato" sound. A cover of "Nightmare" released in 1997 by Space Shuttle (an alias of Dee Jay Soren), was called "We Have A Problem" and added the famous line 'Houston, we have a problem' in the middle break.

Talking of Brooklyn Bounce is one of a number of projects created by the German duo Matthias Mench (Double M) and Dennis Bohn (Bonebreaker). They are best known for the track "Get ready to bounce", which was a German Top 10 hit, a Canada Dance #1 and oddly a Hungarian #1 in 1997. Other notable songs were "The music's got me" and "The Real Bass". Other projects include Beatbox, Boyz-R-Us and Mental Madness Productions.
