BLACKstreet is an American R&B group founded in 1993 by record producers Thomas R Taliaferro, Chauncey "Black" Hannibal and Teddy "Street" Riley. After the breakup of Guy, Riley came up with the idea to start a new group, which combined Chauncey's nickname "Black" and Joseph Stonestreet. The original line-up also had Levi Little as well. Dave Hollister replaced Stonestreet before their self-titled album was released. The debut single "Baby be mine" was on the soundtrack for "CB4" (starring Chris Rock). They are probably best known for their collaboration with Dr Dre on the UK Top 10 hit, "No diggity". "No diggity" spent 1 week at #1 on both the UK (October) and Canada (November) Dance Charts in 1996. "Don't leave me" and "Fix" were also UK Top 10 hits in 1997. They combined with Mya, Mase and Blinky Blink on "Take me there" for their fourth UK Top hit in 1998. They also collaborated with Janet Jackson on "Girlfriend/Boyfriend" which was also #1 on Canada Dance Chart in May 1999 for a week.
