Bob Marley

Robert "Bob" Nesta Marley (6 February 1945 – 11 May 1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter and musician. He is considered to this day one of the pioneers of reggae. His style was marked by fusing elements of reggae, ska, and rocksteady. The fact that he died in 1981 and had posthumous hits is tribute to him being such a Rastafari icon. Bob Marley had four UK top 20 hits in the UK based on remixes, sampling and other collaborations. "Sun is shining" being the best of these having spent 2 weeks in total at #1 in both the Canada (December) and US (November) Dance charts in 1999.
