Clubland / Quartz

Clubland was a swedish house music act assembled in 1990 by BTECH label boss/producer Jan Ekholm and British duo Dave Rawlings and Ronnie Herel of Quartz. Morgan King joined them later as a songwriter. The act used a number of singers/rappers for the first album "Themes from Outer Clubland" including the American hip house duo 2 in a Room, British rapper Stepz, and Swedish singers Zemya Hamilton and Kayo Shekoni. In 1991, Ekholm reformed the act with singer Zemya Hamilton and musician Morgan King. They were particularly successful between 1990-1992, with three US Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart toppers."Hold on" and "Set me free" were #1 on the Canada Dance chart.

What happened next?
Quartz went on to have success working with and introducing Dina Carroll, particularly with UK Top 10 cover of Carole King's "It's too late". Zemya Hamilton (Zemya Sylveta Larsson Auna) died on 24 December 2015 from multiple sclerosis, aged 50.
Of late Morgan has been writing and producing music which has featured on BBC, ITV, Films and most cable networks, with plans in the process to open a music library. He is also collaborating with new artists, building up a collective of musicians, writers, arrangers and producers to support him in his new solo releases...
