Culture Beat is a German outfit that was originally created and produced by Torsten Fenslau and Peter Zweier. Torsten Fenslau passed away in 1993 and his brother Frank Fenslau decided to continue the project together with Peter Graber. Also Tania Evans took over vocal duties from original singer Lana E. With Evans and Jay Supreme, Culture Beat had the most successful period with "Mr. Vain", "Inside Out", "Take Me Away" and "Walk The Same Line". "Mr Vain" was their biggest hit as that spent 4 weeks at #1 in the UK singles chart in August 1993. It was one of three tracks that reached #1 on the Canada Dance chart as it spent 10 weeks there in 1993. The others being "Got to get it" (January 1994) and "Crying in the rain" (May 1996) (in part due to the Sweetbox funky remix). "Got to get it" was also #1 on the US Dance chart.

What happened next?
Tania Evans and Jay Supreme left Culture Beat in 1998 after change of direction from Eurodance to commercial pop. Kim Sanders became the vocalist in 1998 and was featured on the "Metamorphosis" album. Jackie Sangster (2001) and MC 4T (2003) joined Culture Beat and that is the current line-up. Menawhile, Tania Evans is still performing a few gigs including one at London's Indigo O2 in 2019.
