#40: Nick BerryNick Berry is an English actor (b. Apr 13) and is best known for appearing in the 1980s as Simon Wicks in Eastenders and in the 1990s as PC Nick ROwan in Heartbeat. He recorded the theme tune, a Buddy Holly cover and was his only hit in the 1990s. He has retired from acting (and singing) around 2012.

#39: Craig McLachlan
Craig McLachlan is an Australian actor (b. Sep 1) and is best known for appearing in the early seasons of soap, Neighbours as Henry Ramsey. After that, following the crossover success of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, he tried his hand at singing and along with the band Check 1-2, didn't do too badly with "Mona" and "Amanda" reaching the top 20 in the UK. This lead to musicals, notably in the West End production of "Grease" with Debbie Gibson and later Sonia. A duet with former on "You're the one that I want" also reached the UK top 20.

Steve Houghton is an English actor (b. Feb 16), best known for appearing the drama series, "London's Burning". He tried his hand at singing and recorded a self-titled album, which featured a cover of Bette Midler's "Wind beneath my wings". A second single, "Truly" peaked at #23 in the UK.

#36: Denise & Johnny
Denise van Outen and Johnny Vaughan are TV presenters and together presented the "Big Breakfast" in the 90s. They covered Kylie and Jason's "Especially for you" in 1998. Interestingly, this was not the UK Top 40 appearance in the 90s for van Outen as she was one half of duo, Those 2 girls that reached #35 in 1996.

#35: Monty Python / Coronation Street Cast
Two versions of "Always look on the birght side of life" reached the UK charts in the 1990s. The original from the 1979 movie, "Monty Python's Life of Brian" made an appearance in the 1991 after DJ Simon Mayo featured it on his radio show (after failing to chart on two previous occasions). Monty Python are of course were the British surreal comedy troupe known for the sketch comedy tv show, Monty Python's Flying Circus. In 1995, the cast of popular ITV soap opera Coronation Street released it and that made #35 in the UK.
